Nearly 500 California-based workers at marijuana operator Eaze have ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement.
According to a Friday news release, the workers – who are represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 5, 135, 324 and 770 – will receive:
- Recognition of previous union service.
- Fair wages and regular raises, retroactive to Jan. 1, 2025.
- Employer contributions to workers’ health and welfare.
- Mileage reimbursements for delivery drivers indexed to the IRS rate.
“The workers at Eaze stood strong through uncertainty and came out with a contract that protects their wages, benefits, and rights,” UFCW Local 135 Secretary-Treasurer Grant Tom said in a statement.
Florida-based Eaze has experienced a rebirth of sorts in 2025.
The operations of now-defunct Eaze Technologies were shuttered Dec. 31, and the company reopened as Eaze on Jan. 1 after hiring and onboarding about 1,100 employees in California, Colorado and Florida.
Then, on Jan. 15, Eaze announced that it:
- Had planted its first cannabis crop in its recently expanded Green Dragon Florida cultivation facility.
- Will add the Plus and Old Pal brands to its Green Dragon Florida locations, with more brands to be introduced later this year.
Eaze acquired Green Dragon in 2021, and both entities were purchased in late 2024 by a group involving billionaire Jim Clark.
Eaze’s hiring push came roughly eight months after hundreds of Eaze Technologies delivery and depot employees in Los Angeles, Northern California, Orange County and San Diego threatened to walk off the job after negotiations broke down to secure the first labor contract between staffers and Eaze.
